Making of DVD

SBTV interview

1) What is SBTV? Research the channel and explain how it became successful.
Identify the target audience for this interview (demographics/psychographics) and say why.
SBTV is a multi- faceted company founded by Jamal Edwards and run by a small team of young people who work on web-based content. usually with a new music angle. The media platform has its roots in urban music, most of the official SBTV website includes unprofessional footage or "street-shot" raps and music videos.

2) What is the audience appeal for an interview like this? How does the opening of the clip emphasise this appeal?
it gives an exclusive insight on the work happening to get the film finished, it even shows some footage from the film. the beginning of the video emphasises this as the interviewer states that they aren't supposed to be there and acts secretive hence the secret insight of the film.

3) How is Plan B (the brand) represented in this text?
Plan B is shown as a hard working editor and director. He is also shown to be a bit nervous as he briefty states that that he's worried about people not liking it. also there is a perfectionist side shown as he is trying to get the film how he wants before someone comes and takes over. There is also a personal and informal presentation of him in the video when he begins to joke around with the interviewer.

Plan B on BBC Radio 1 show

1) How popular is BBC Radio 1? Find average listening figures for the station. How has the BBC Radio 1 audience declined over recent years? Why might this have happened?
2) Who is the target audience for BBC Radio 1?
3) How does Plan B promote Ill Manors in this interview?
4) What representation of Plan B can we find in this interview?

SOHK.TV interview

1) What is SOHK.TV?
SOHK stands for school of hard knocks and they use sport to tackle issues surrounding unemployment, health and crime.

2) Why is Ill Manors a good fit to promote on SOHK.TV?
because both the film and the SOHK share similar views about helping young children in rough situations and therefore people who watch the interview will agree with the views of the film and go and watch it.

3) What kind of audience would subscribe to SOHK.TV? Is it a different audience to the main target audience for Ill Manors? Why might this benefit Ben Drew and the institutions behind Ill Manors?
I think they both share a similar audience because of their aims. This is beneficial as it'll bring more viewers of the film and help reach a wider audience of a similar demographic.

Jonathan Ross interview

1) What is the history of the Jonathan Ross show? What channels has it appeared on? Why has Jonathan Ross been a controversial media figure in the past?
The Jonathan Ross show is a British chat show where host Jonathan Ross would bring in public figures who have been in the news recently and appears on ITV. Jonathan Ross is considered a controversial figure because he was suspended from all BBC shows for 3 months back in 2008, where he was a guest on Russel Brands BBC radio 2 show, because of his and Brands actions in messages left on actor Andrew Sachs phone. however Jonathan apologised for his mistake and returned to radio 2 a year after, before leaving in 2010.
