Ill Manors e-media: website analysis

 1) What examples can you find of the Ill Manors brand on the Ill Manors website homepage screengrab above?
there's the use of the council housing environment that is similar to some in the film. there also seems to be all the main characters in the image. the logo 'Ill manors' with the particular brand font is seen twice one in the top left corner and in the poster in the foreground behind the main character, this reinforces the brand to an audience.

2) How does the website encourage the audience to buy or interact with Ill Manors products?
At the top of the screengrab there is information about where to buy the film, encouraging people to buy it as there is a range of ways to access the film. then below that is the #illmanors, allowing viewers to interact on social media and spread the word about the film and below that is a 'Ill manors buy now' writing which would probably link the audience to another website in order to buy it.

3) Now look at Plan B's official website. How does it use social media in terms of content and design? Why might the website designers have wanted to create the look and feel of a social networking site?
the website is linked to plan bs social media accounts so that what ever he posts on them it is also posted on the website. this may be because websites have been becoming obsolete through the years so this website wants to have the look and design of social media and be linked to all plan bs social media so they can all be accessed in one place.

4) Scroll back through the wall to look at posts from around the release date of Ill Manors. How does this statement on Ill Manors link to other texts we have studied as part of this case study? Do you agree with his claim that he "won't justify" the riots? What does this statement suggest about the representation of young people in Plan B's film and music videos? what plan b says in this statement is similar to the TEDx talk where he talks about the word 'chav' being openly used in news papers and how young children are being demonised because of their background or the way they dress.

5) Why do you think social media is overtaking official websites in terms of film promotion?
the use of websites is being obsolete because now social media has become more often used worldwide. social media now allows audiences a physical involvement with the film and film promotion. its a lot faster and easier for promotion to be spread and seen by so many people with social media.
